Stock market rallies; Sensex rises over 1,300 points, Nifty up nearly 370

Banking and financial services firms drove the Indian stock market's rally during Thursday, April 27's trading session. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 1,315.59 points, or 1.71%, at 1:40 pm, closing at 78,359.88. At 23,806.30, the wider NSE Nifty was up 369.10 points, or 1.57%, in the green.

Eternal was the most volatile of the 30 Sensex equities, rising 5.09% to trade at ₹233.35. After that, ICICI Bank increased 3.46% to trade at ₹1403.65, SBI increased 3.21% to trade at ₹796.55, Bharti Airtel increased 3.12% to trade at ₹1,879.90, and Kotak Mahindra Bank increased 3.11% to trade at ₹2,189.

Out of the Sensex stocks, only three were down. These were Larsen & Toubro, which dropped 0.22%, trading at ₹3,221, Tech Mahindra, which dropped the highest by 0.83%, trading at ₹1,298.15, HCL Technologies, which dropped 0.58%, trading at ₹1,423.90.
