The body of a final-year B.Tech student was discovered hanging in the dorm room at IIT Kanpur: Police
Oct. 2, Kanpur (UP) (PTI) According to authorities, a student from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in this city was discovered dead in his dorm room on Thursday after other students complained about an unpleasant odor. Haryana resident Dheeraj Saini, 22, a final-year electrical engineering B.Tech student, had remained in his room 123 at Hostel-1. On Wednesday, several students reported a bad odor coming from his sealed room to the authorities.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kalyanpur) Ranjeet Kumar, a police squad smashed down the door and discovered Saini's body dangling from the ceiling fan on a rope. According to investigators, no suicide note was discovered. Just a few days ago, Saini had promised his sister that he would come home in December. The mortuary received the body.
The officer stated, "If any complaint is lodged, further probe will be conducted." After learning of the death, the deceased's father, Satish Saini, who owns a confectionery, sobbed. "My son has been eaten by IIT-K. Saini told investigators, "I can't express how hard I worked to educate him." He claimed that just a few days prior, the deceased had informed his older sister that he would return home in December and that he anticipated landing a job through campus placement by March.
