Sensex, Nifty 50 today: Real estate, energy, and media stocks lead rally on opening

Today's Sensex and Nifty 50: On Monday, March 24, as the week's trading session got underway, the stock market opened higher. The largest increases were in media, oil and gas, and real estate stocks. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 481.79 points, or 0.63 percent, at 77,387.30 at 9.15 am. At 23,475.10, the wider NSE Nifty began the day 124.70 points higher, or 0.53%, in the green.

NTPC opened at ₹358.70, up 2.15 percent, the highest of the 30 Sensex stocks. Following this were Power Grid Corporation of India, up 1.38 percent, trading at ₹286.90, and Tata Motors, up 1.72 percent, trading at ₹714.95.

The Nifty Realty Index experienced the largest increase of 1.29 percent among the Nifty sectoral indexes, rising to 873.85. Next in line were Nifty Media, which fell 0.88 percent to 1,561.25, and Nifty Oil & Gas, which fell 1.26 percent to 10,676.90.
