After a World War II bomb was discovered on the tracks, Paris' busiest train station was closed.

Officials confirmed that an unexploded World War II bomb was found on the lines leading to France's busiest rail terminal, causing traffic at Paris' Gare du Nord train station to stop.

The French national railway corporation, SNCF, reported that the explosive device was discovered in the middle of the tracks in the district of Saint-Denis during routine maintenance work overnight. On X (formerly Twitter), the suburban RER B train service verified that the bomb was from World War II.

All train movement, including high-speed TGV and Eurostar services, to and from Gare du Nord was immediately suspended by French authorities after the discovery. As police and bomb disposal specialists attempted to defuse the threat, there were significant inconveniences at the terminal, which handles over 700,000 people every day.
