Calling it a "threat to the Constitution," Tejasvi Surya attacks the Karnataka government for having a 4% Muslim quota in tenders.

The Congress-led Karnataka government's decision to provide a 4% reservation for Muslim contractors in government contracts has drawn harsh criticism from BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, who described the move as "an attack on the Constitution" and one that "incentivizes religious conversion."

"This new gimmick for electoral gains is equal to undoing the very purpose of reservation," Surya said in response to the ruling, adding that reservations in India have traditionally been based on social and economic backwardness rather than religion.

He also accused the Congress government of squandering authority and public resources for vote bank politics, stating that such policies will convert the economy into a “playground for political opportunism.”
