To stop farmers from marching to Chandigarh, there is a significant police presence in Malwa.

Since early Wednesday, Punjab Police have increased road and highway security in the districts of Mansa, Bathinda, and Faridkot in Malwa to stop farm union activists from marching towards Chandigarh to stage a dharna against the state government. According to officials, in order to preserve peace and order, farm union leaders are being placed under preventative arrest.

So yet, the agitators have failed to impede traffic flow. According to sources, police were looking through cars to find Samyukt Kisan Morcha members and prevent them from traveling to the state capital. According to Harjeet Singh, the deputy inspector general (DIG), Bathinda range, barricading has been carried out at a number of areas in the districts of Mansa and Bathinda.
