Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Allotted Ansari Road Bungalow
New Delhi: According to sources on Tuesday, Atishi, the former chief minister of Delhi, has been given a mansion on Ansari Road as her official residence. In addition, the Public Works Department (PWD) has put out a bid to repair and renovate the 115 Ansari Road bungalow that was given to the opposition leader in the Delhi Assembly for a total of Rs 39 lakh.
"We will make the necessary general repairs to the bungalow. It needs renovations in the kitchen, drainage systems, tiling, and other interior areas because it has been unoccupied for over a year, according to a senior PWD official. Atishi had previously asked for permission to keep the home at AB-17 Mathura Road. PWD officials, however, assert that this bungalow is a part of the Center's lodging pool and that she is not eligible to receive it as part of an inter-pool swap.
According to AAP sources, Atishi wrote to the PWD in March asking to be given the bungalow on Ansari Road in Daryaganj, but she never heard back. During her tenure as chief minister, Atishi was also offered the property on Ansari Road when the PWD reclaimed the bungalow on Flagstaff Road, which was the subject of a CBI inquiry.
