Jammu and Kashmir authorities ban sale, stitching, and storage of army uniforms in Kishtwar
To prevent anti-national groups from misusing army uniforms and combat pattern outfits, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district have prohibited the sale, stitching, and storage of such items. Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar, ordered the prohibition. "Whereas, this threat posed by subversive elements is an imminent danger to public safety, public peace, tranquillity and security that warrants immediate preventive …," according to an order he issued on Saturday.
The district magistrate issued a set of regulations and prohibitions, stating that all permitted private enterprises and stores buying, storing, and selling combat clothing must immediately notify the nearest police station in writing of their authority to conduct this business.
The time restriction for providing such information shall be 15 days from the day this order is issued and published. According to the regulation, all authorized persons, private firms/shops dealing in such products must provide fortnightly reports of all combat/Khadi dress/cloth sales made by them, as well as specific information about the Army/Paramilitary/Police personnel to whom such sales were made.
