Khalistani Threat to Kapil Sharma: 'Canada Not Your Playground

**SFJ Founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun Threatens Kapil Sharma Over Canadian Business Venture**

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, founder of the banned pro-Khalistan outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has issued a threat to actor-comedian Kapil Sharma, warning him to "take his blood money back to Hindustan" and declaring that "Canada is not your playground."

In a video message, Pannun—who was designated a terrorist by India’s Ministry of Home Affairs in 2019—accused Sharma of allegedly promoting a "violent Hindutva ideology" under the guise of business operations in Canada. He claimed such ideologies would not be allowed to take root on Canadian soil.

The threat comes just days after an attack on Sharma’s recently launched restaurant, *Kap’s Café*, in Surrey, British Columbia. On Wednesday night, unidentified men fired shots at the café, which had opened on July 4. No injuries were reported.

Following the incident, Harjit Singh Laddi and Toofan Singh—both reportedly linked to the designated terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)—claimed responsibility. BKI is officially listed as a terrorist organization by the Canadian government. Laddi is also on the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) most-wanted list.

Pannun questioned the intent behind Sharma’s venture, asking whether *Kap’s Café* was merely a comedy venue or part of a broader plan to "export Hindutva." He implied this could be the start of a larger ideological expansion, stating, “One business at a time?”

Responding to the attack, the café issued a statement on Instagram, saying they were “processing the shock” of the incident but would remain firm in standing against violence. Kapil Sharma has not yet publicly addressed the incident.

SFJ, banned under India’s Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, has long been accused of promoting secessionist activities and threatening the country's internal security. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the group maintains close ties with militant organizations and continues to engage in anti-national actions aimed at disrupting India’s sovereignty and democratic processes.

The National Investigation Agency has registered multiple cases against Pannun, who is currently facing 104 cases across India. These are being investigated either by the NIA or by respective state agencies.
