India denies report that WH rejected Jaishankar's meeting with Trump
India Denies Reports of Jaishankar's Meeting Request Being Rejected by White House
New Delhi [India], July 4 – The Indian government has strongly refuted claims that External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar's request to meet former US President Donald Trump was denied by the White House due to a scheduling conflict, labeling the news as "completely false."
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Ministry of External Affairs' Fact Check unit stated:
"CLAIM: White House denies Indian FM Jaishankar's request to meet Donald Trump due to busy schedule. This is FAKE News. This CLAIM is false."
The clarification came after a social media user claimed that the White House had rejected Jaishankar’s meeting request with Trump, citing his “busy schedule.” The MEA has dismissed the claim as baseless misinformation.
