Bengal police bust Odisha-based drug racket, 200 packets of marijuana recovered from rotten fish crates
In a cinematic manner, Bengali police have apprehended a pickup van that was smuggling marijuana. Two hundred marijuana packets were found under the foul stench of rotten fish crates.
According to reports, the Diamond Harbour Police carried out a raid on Tuesday afternoon in Magrahat, South 24 Parganas, specifically in the Magurpukur area. The police found marijuana valued at crores during the raid. The drugs were being transported from Odisha, as the officials had suspected.
Police allegedly discovered neatly packed drugs concealed inside the fish cartons after breaking the locks. According to reports, the cops were nearly fooled by the appearance of decaying fish. But after looking into it more, the authorities found 200 illegal drug packages. An estimated one to one and a half kilograms was thought to weigh per packet. Police believe the packets, which are worth several crores on the market, contained marijuana.
