Chinese foreign minister expresses commitment to strengthen ties with India
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stated that China is willing to collaborate with India in order to draw lessons from the past, create a future course, and put bilateral relations on a path toward steady and healthy growth. He pointed out that this year marks the 75th anniversary of India and China's diplomatic relations.
"This year marks the 75th anniversary of China-India diplomatic relations," Wang Yi stated during a press conference on Friday. China is prepared to collaborate with India in order to draw lessons from the past, create a future course, and put China-India ties on a route toward steady and healthy growth.
He recalled the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October of last year in Kazan, Russia, on the fringes of the BRICS Summit, and said that India-China relations had improved over the previous year.
