‘Conspiracy, preposterous’: Justice Varma denies allegations of cash found at his residence

Judge Yashwant Varma of the Delhi High Court has refuted the claims made against him and his family members in relation to the burned cash discovered at his official residence, claiming that no money was placed in the storage. In his response to Delhi High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya, Justice Varma said the allegations appeared to be an attempt to frame and malign him.

After an internal investigation led by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Delhi High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya requested Justice Varma's statement, which he provided. Additionally, he criticized the media for defaming people by making accusations without carrying out a thorough investigation. According to Justice Varma, he had no knowledge of any money being kept in the outhouse storeroom.

Following a request from Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya of the Delhi High Court, Justice Varma provided his response in relation to an internal investigation that Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna had started.
