Delhi budget 2025: "historic" ₹1 lakh crore budget presented by CM Rekha Gupta
Delhi Budget 2025: Rekha Gupta, the chief minister of Delhi, presented the state assembly with the budget for 2025–2026 on Tuesday. She stated that it contains 10 priority sectors, such as water, roads, energy, and infrastructure development. This is the first budget for the nation's capital from the recently established Bharatiya Janata Party-led government.
CM Gupta referred to the budget as a "historic budget" of the Delhi government when he presented it to the state assembly. The ₹1 lakh crore budget for this year is a 31.5% increase over the previous one. Gupta declared that "corruption and inefficiency" were over and that the budget for capital expenditures had risen to ₹28,000 crore.
Speaker of the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta had also voiced confidence in the budget document before to its introduction, stating that it will meet the expectations of the public.
