‘Muslims now 40% in West Bengal’: Owaisi's AIMIM says it will contest all assembly seats

All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Tuesday claimed that Muslims now make up over 40 per cent of West Bengal’s population and stated that it will contest all seats in the 2026 assembly election with full force. During the press conference, the party discussed concerns pertaining to Muslims, Dalits, and tribal people in the state as part of its political agenda.

We have a major announcement to make. We fought in Delhi, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. We will fight from every seat in Bengal. According to AIMIM spokesperson Imran Solanki, the party received 60,000 votes in Malda, 25,000 in Murshidabad, and between 15,000 and 18,000 in other districts during the most recent panchayat elections, as reported by The Indian Express.

According to a party leader, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi oversaw the gathering. Plans for the party's growth and tactics for the next Assembly elections were also discussed.
