Opposition leaders walk out of Waqf meeting, demand extension of JPC's tenure

Opposition leaders on Wednesday walked out of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meeting on the Waqf Amendment Bill, saying that the chairman of the panel expressed his intention of tabling the report's draft in the Lok Sabha on November 29. They demanded extension of the panel's tenure as many state boards were yet to appear before the panel.
