Tamil Nadu rupee symbol row reaches assembly, BJP walks out during Budget session

In protest of the DMK government's decision to replace the rupee symbol, the Bharatiya Janata Party and other opposition parties left the Tamil Nadu assembly during the state budget 2025–2026.

Vanathi Srinivasan, a BJP MLA, protested by wearing a black outfit during the session before leaving. "The walkout is on two issues," she stated.
