Women's empowerment has been exemplified by UP: Adityanath
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wished everyone a happy Vijayadashami (Dussehra) on Wednesday, stating that Uttar Pradesh, despite having the largest population, has become one of the safest states for women and is now the nation's leader in protecting their safety, dignity, and justice. The state has the highest conviction rate and the lowest crime rate against women in India, he continued.
On the auspicious occasions of Mahanavami and Vijayadashami, CM Yogi addressed the media at Gorakhnath Temple and attributed the success to consistent government efforts through programs like Mission Shakti and welfare programs for women and girls. The chief minister asserted that the world would be unthinkable without the strength of women, saying that Navami symbolizes trust in the strength and divinity of women. "To ensure women's safety, dignity, and self-reliance, the state government is implementing a number of programs," he continued.
Yogi emphasized the worship of the nine forms of Goddess Durga during Shardiya and Vasantik Navratri, underscoring the cultural and spiritual significance of the holiday. He pointed out that while the traditional Kanya Pujan is considered a precious privilege, devotees worship Goddess Siddhidatri on Mahanavami.
